Policy 2610 - Advancement Requirements (9-12)

Advancement Requirements (9-12)

RISE Charter School has established a set of advancement requirements for 9th through 12th grade students which will act as a guide in helping students move methodically and purposefully on a course that will eventually lead to high school graduation. Therefore, the following advancement requirements are required in the School:

A student who successfully completes any required high school course with a grade of C or higher prior to entering the 9th grade shall have that grade and the number of credit hours assigned to the course transferred to the student’s high school transcript. The course must be taught by a certified teacher who meets the federal definition of highly qualified and must meet the same standards as those required in high school. Courses taken in middle school appearing on the student’s high school transcript shall count for the purpose of high school graduation. However, the student must complete the number of credits required by state law and administrative rules for each high school core subject.
