Policy 1650 - New Board Member Workshop

New Board Member Workshop

The RISE Charter School Board of Directors will assist newly elected/appointed Board Members to become familiar with their duties and responsibilities as quickly as possible. All Board Members are encouraged to attend appropriate workshops, seminars, and conventions in order to develop professionalism and expertise in governance.

The Board may require mandatory training on education issues; including Idaho education laws, school finance, ethics, duties, and responsibilities of RISE Charter School Board Members for all members. Upon completion of training, the information will be recorded into the Board minutes.

Board Members who attend and successfully complete such workshops, shall be reimbursed for actual expenses for lodging, meals, registration fees, and transportation to and from the location of the workshop as prescribed in Policy 1420 Director Expenses.

The Executive Director or his or her designee will maintain records of each Board Member’s training accomplishments and will notify any Board Member of the need for that Board Member to accomplish any additional training.
