Certified Teacher Job Description

RISE Charter School is an innovative, new school to the rural community of Kimberly, Idaho. This school was developed to offer a unique educational model that promotes critical thinking through project-based learning. RISE is implementing the Summit curriculum to achieve this goal. This comprehensive curriculum prepares students to not only meet the academic challenges of the world, but also focuses on the social, emotional and cognitive development of students.

This candidate will join our dynamic staff as a part-time middle and high school teacher of science. The ideal candidate will have a teaching certificate with endorsements in Biology, Natural Science, Geology or Earth and Space Science, but a Bachelor of Science degree in any related field will be considered.

The successful candidate will need to participate in the Summit “on-boarding” work to learn the curriculum including after school online trainings.This candidate will supplement the Summit curriculum with projects, modeling, and instruction that enables students to master the essential science state standards and skills for each grade level. A key ingredient of the Summit curriculum is the one-on-one mentoring of students. You will be expected to meet with each of your assigned students at least twice monthly to review their personal and academic goals, offer assistance and counsel your mentees. The ideal candidate would be a skilled communicator and has the mindset that all students can learn.

We value exceptional educators at RISE so salary will be based on the Idaho State Department of Education Teacher and Administrators Salary schedule with additional stipends. You will also be eligible for full-time healthcare benefits and PERSI retirement. Time is built into the schedule for regular collaboration with staff, professional developments, and preparation time.
