Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972
Title IX promotes working and learning environments that are free from sex and gender-based harassment, discrimination, and retaliation. Title IX protects people from discrimination based on sex in education programs or activities that receive Federal financial assistance.
RISE Charter School is committed to providing a workplace and educational environment, as well as other benefits, programs, and activities, that are free from sex and gender-based harassment, discrimination, and retaliation. Accordingly, the School prohibits harassment and discrimination on the basis of sex, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, and pregnancy, as well as retaliation against individuals who report allegations of sex and gender-based harassment and discrimination, file a formal complaint, or participate in a grievance process.
Students, employees, or other members of the School community who believe that they have been subjected to sex or gender-based harassment, discrimination, or retaliation should report the incident to the Title IX Coordinator, who will provide information about supportive measures and the applicable grievance process(es).

Title IX prohibits all forms of sexual harassment and sexual violence involving sex and gender discrimination including:
- hostile work environment
- quid pro quo
- sexual assault
- forcible rape
- forcible sodomy
- sexual assault with an object
- forcible fondling
- incest
- statutory rape
- dating violence
- domestic violence
- stalking
Under Title IX, schools are required to respond promptly to allegations of discrimination based on sex, including sexual harassment and sexual violence. Specifically, schools are required to stop, remedy, and prevent all forms of sex and gender-based discrimination.

Kimberly School District and RISE Charter School comply with all federal, state, and local authorities requiring non-discrimination, including but not limited to Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Civil Rights Restoration Act of 1987, Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA), the Age Discrimination Act of 1975.

Any student may file a discrimination grievance using the procedure that follows this policy.
