Hi there and welcome back for our 2020-21 school year!

I'm a transplant from Northern Utah and have been living in the Magic Valley for twenty years.  I landed in the Kimberly School District thirteen years ago in a first grade classroom and was subsequently hired to teach second grade.  I also taught fifth grade for three years and this will be my third year teaching literacy for Title One.  I've served as our PBIS (positive behavior interventions and support) coach, on leadership teams, and several other committees. Our outstanding community of learners - our students, families, and staff - make me proud to be a Bulldog and call this place home.

I obtained my bachelor's degree from ISU where I studied education and mathematics.  I continued course work there focusing on neurology specific to literacy.  Being a student is my true love and if I could figure out how to do it professionally, I would!  I hope to instill this love of learning in students whom I interact with.  While I am somewhat of an academic nerd, I believe that relationships are vital in education - vital for social-emotional wellness, vital for creating and meeting expectations, and vital to thrive in the world around us.

More personally, I have two children, a son and a daughter.  Two beautiful grandsons, and a psychotic fluffy cat.  I love to garden, kayak, and travel in fair weather, and am perfectly content to stay home and read during the winter.  I'm easily entertained and try to find a little fun in every situation.

I enjoy talking to families and am always available through email and by phone.  If you have any questions, concerns, or ideas - please contact me - we are stronger together and we will always be on the same team.

Thanks for sharing your student with me!
